We are looking for an apartment in Chicago, July 1 move-in date. Preferably along the Blue line. $1,000 and allows a dog . We not familiar with some neighborhoods in that area. What can be said about the Humnbolt Park, Logan Square, Wicker Park or Bucktown areas? Also we been told that the Pilsin area is ok. Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated. Thanks.

Re: APARTMENT SOUGHT
Sun, June 10, 2007 - 1:01 PMWicker Park and Logan Sq were the first neighborhoods that came to mind. Wicker Park being the more trendy hip hood. Bucktown is a busy hood and closest to downtown. It probably wouldn't be the best deal for your money though. Pilsen and Humbolt Park...I don't know about that. Both are still kind of dicey I think. Another blue line choice could be Jefferson Park...fairly reasonable and safe hood. However it is the hood that is the furthest out west(closest to Ohare) and farthest from downtown. My choice would be Logan Sq.
I hope my information pleases you sir! :p
